This is the ninth year Alan Wright will be team captain for the Swim Across America team in North Texas. He's a chaplain at the Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas. He knows a great deal about hope.

16-year-old Riya Reddy loves The Perot Museum. She was 10 years old the first time she went there. The trains and the dinosaurs were fantastic and turned her on to science.
Hometown Hero: Glenn Lacy
Native Texan Glenn Lacy is 99 years young. For 16 years, he's volunteered at Baylor Scott & White Health in Grapevine. Once a week, he's behind the desk at Tower 2 greeting visitors and giving them information. He also escorts them to patients’ rooms and delivers flowers.
Hometown Hero: Gerry Dalton
Gerry Dalton loves helping to keep North Texans safe. He's not a police officer or a firefighter. He's a R.A.C.E.S. operator: a trained storm spotter with the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service.

Nancy Love has been a teacher in the Fort Worth ISD for 30 years. She loves what she does but had to leave the classroom in 2014 for treatment for ovarian cancer at Texas Oncology. After chemo she's in remission and this survivor is giving back.
