The tornado’s devastation is stretching resources as the state is already responding to a panhandle tornado a week ago.

Strong winds from Wednesday night’s storms caused a train to derail in North Texas.

While on his normal route going door to door during Tuesday’s extreme heat, the 66-year-old collapsed in a front yard, and the homeowner came outside to perform CPR. He later died at the hospital.

The boxes contain non-perishable items like Ensure, Pedialyte and protein bars. They can feed a family of four in the days immediately following a natural disaster.

Temperatures are climbing to dangerously hot conditions again on Wednesday. And for some customers of the Tri-County Electric Cooperative, they're worried about dealing with no electricity for up to 4 hours.

Supply met demand, and there were no outages. But energy experts say if it were just a few more degrees hotter in North Texas, it could have been worse.

A lot of people are working hard to make sure some of the most vulnerable people in North Texas are safe in the dangerous heat.

Members of the Dallas County Sheriff's Office courtesy patrol will be ready with extra water when they assist stranded drivers. It also means increased calls for help from people who suffer flat tires due to the heat.
