I am a native Texan, born and raised in Mansfield! From the February snowstorm of 2010 to the December 2015 tornado outbreak, growing up in North Texas meant there was no shortage of active weather. Funnily enough, though, I actually grew up terrified of severe weather, but somewhere along the way, that fear turned into curiosity.
My dad was, and still is, always tracking active weather. On very special occasions, he would let my brother and me miss school to go chase down snow (I always loved that!). I attribute a lot of my love for weather to him. However, it wasn’t until taking an environmental science class my junior year of high school that I knew I really wanted to pursue meteorology.
I am the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2023 - WHOOP! During my time at Texas A&M, I found my passion for weather. I chased storms, launched weather balloons, and even studied tropical meteorology in Barbados! During my senior year, I was lucky enough to land a fill-in weather anchor position at KTEN in Sherman, TX. KTEN helped me realize that I might want to give the whole TV thing a shot!
I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in the spring of 2023, and I like to say I walked down the street and got a job - but really, I had my sights set on KBTX for quite some time. I started as a weekend meteorologist at KBTX in Bryan-College Station in June of ’23 and was promoted to the midday position in April of ’24. In the Brazos Valley, you get a little taste of everything. I covered the record-setting heat of 2023, the Christmas Eve hailstorm of 2024, Hurricane Beryl, and a handful of tornado outbreaks during my time at KBTX. I loved every second of working there; it’s where I really fell in love with broadcast meteorology. But when the opportunity to come back home presented itself, I knew I had to take it!
I am so grateful to be back in North Texas, doing what I love. I look forward to delivering your FOX 4 Warn Forecast for many years to come. Thank you for welcoming me back home!
