North Texas woman found safe after family received ransom texts, police say
DeSOTO, Texas - A North Texas woman who went missing earlier this month has been found safe.
27-year-old Amber Garcia is being reunited with her family, according to the City of DeSoto.
Garcia was briefly taken into custody in DeSoto on Friday, Dec. 1 and then released her that day.
Her mother told police she started getting text messages two days later saying her daughter was being held for ransom.
It’s not clear who was sending those messages.
