Tariffs for U.S. trade partners go into effect

Dozens of countries facing higher than expected tariffs from the U.S. are rushing to negotiate. Switzerland, now facing a 39 percent tariff on its goods ranging from chocolate to luxury watches, failed to strike a last-minute deal.

Federal Reserve refuses Trump's interest rate cut

President Trump touted economic growth today as the nation showed a three percent increase domestic output from April to June. The GDP growth came after a drop in the first part of the year but the federal reserve said it would not lower the key short term interest rate despite calls from the President to do so.
