Volunteers prepare meals for families in need for Easter Sunday

Whether your favorite part of Easter Sunday dinner is glazed ham, scalloped potatoes or deviled eggs, there’s no question that for those who celebrate, Easter is one of the best meals of the year.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the luxury of having an Easter feast.

That’s why volunteers in Charlotte, North Carolina are preparing meals for food banks for Easter. The plates are filled with Easter classics like ham, mac and cheese and apple pie. They’re preparing more than ten thousand meals, so that no one in their area will have to go hungry on Easter.

But there is still much work to be done. This Easter 41 million people in America will be struggling with hunger, including 13 million children. If you want to do your part to make sure everyone has a happy Easter, it’s not too late to pitch in. You can always donate non-perishable items to your local food bank, or donate your time at your local shelter to help make sure that this year no one goes hungry.

It’s never a bad time to offer a helping hand to those who need it, and with a little help, this year we can make sure Easter Sunday is delicious for everyone.
