Volunteers look for bone marrow donors in Fort Worth and Denton
About a dozen North Texans volunteers spent the day swabbing cheeks to help with a life saving effort.
You may have seen seven-year-old Hallie Barnard on Fox 4 news in the past.
The little girl’s family has been looking for her bone marrow match since she was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. The illness has been the inspiration for her non-profit Hallie’s Heroes.
Over the last year, Hallie’s Heroes volunteers have checked more than 1,300 people. They’ve found four matches for people around the country, but are still searching for a match for Hallie.
