Richardson police are warning residents to exercise extra caution, after two armed home invasion robberies in the last week. Most recently; Saturday morning.

Police say the incidents are similar, but they’re not sure if the two are related. Both robberies involve, three to four men wearing masks and dark clothing. One of them holds the family at gunpoint, while the others rob the house.

The first robbery was on near Breckinridge Park, Wednesday, in the 3500 block of Moroney Dr.

Neighbors were stunned to learn such a violent crime could happen in broad daylight, and right across the street from a popular park. "It's so unnerving because, I mean so many people walk day to day, like walking their dogs, biking with their family.  I mean it's crazy,” said Shubhi Agarwal.

Police are also investigating Saturday’s robbery in the gated Lakes at Buckingham community.

Police say it’s not clear if the homeowners were targeted for any specific reason, and are looking for people with information.

In the meantime, police are asking people to be more vigilant, lock doors and windows, and use home burglary alarms if they have them.
