Junior livestock contestants move in at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

FORT WORTH, Texas - Young people and their animals are starting to arrive at the Will Rogers Memorial Center for judging at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. FOX 4’s Jenny Anchondo talked to just a few contestants about the experience.

Tori Hogg was in line with her exotic steer named Bullet. She’s been working with him for the past several months.

“My plan is to just make him look his best and go out there, do our hardest and hopefully he gets placed 10th where he makes sale,” she said.

Hogg is hoping to make a little money for her college education after selling Bullet. But it’s not all about the money.

“I just do it for what I love to do,” she said.

The Junior Steer and Junior Barrow competitions begin later this week. The highly-anticipated Junior Sale of Champions takes place on Saturday at 9 a.m.
