A Dallas teenager was found shot in the head by a jogger on Sunday morning.

Joe Martinez, 15, died soon after and police are searching for his killer but don't have many leads.

Police said they got the call about the homicide in the 2800 block of W. Brooklyn Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

A jogger, who asked not to be named, said he found the teen and asked him if he was doing okay.

"When I touched him and felt his skin it was cold," the jogger said. "There were tire marks on his arm."

Neighbors in the area said they heard a single gunshot around 1:45 a.m. and some heard a car speeding away shortly after. Neighbors said they hear gunfire regularly, but usually it's several shots in succession and it's usually celebratory in nature.

Relatives said Martinez was last seen about midnight at his uncle's house near his own home. He stayed about 15 minutes and left and was never heard from again.

"What his two brothers are going to do now without him, I don't know," said Martha Rodriguez, a close family friend. "He was the man of the house and he knew that. He knew he held everything down at home."

Police are still investigating and don't have any suspects.
