Fort Worth parents dead in murder-suicide, daughter inside home during shooting

An 8-year-old girl was found alive in the Fort Worth home where her parents died Sunday afternoon. Officials are calling it a murder-suicide.

Police said the girl’s father shot his wife and then himself. A neighbor on Castleview Drive was in his front yard and heard the screams and saw a woman bleeding in the street.

Wilson Toledo said the woman was trying to dial 911, but had lost too much blood and could not make the call or respond to him. Her daughter told him what happened.

“I asked the little girl, ‘Where is your dad at?’ She said, ‘My dad is inside the house.’ And, ‘Is he okay?’ She said, ‘He shoot himself.’ She said, ‘Do you want to go inside the house?’ I said, ‘No, I don’t want to go inside the house,’” Toledo said.

The child’s mother was taken to a Fort Worth hospital where she died. Her father was already dead in the house, police said.
