Residents at a senior living center in Garland spent the last six weeks building 15 adorable Dr. Seuss benches.

This week they dressed up and delivered the benches to local elementary schools ahead in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Friday is Red Across America Day celebrating the beloved author.

The seniors at Brookdale Club Hill even had special Dr. Seuss shirts made with their ages on them.

Many of the seniors said they never thought they would build something like this again at their age. Some were even building for the first time.

The kids at the schools that received the benches loved them.
