Seared Ahi Tuna with Maple Pecan Brussel Sprouts from Sea Breeze Fish & Market Grill
2 6-8 oz. pieces fresh yellowfin tuna
Salt and pepper
1 Tbsp. Sesame oil, divided
2 Tbsp. Black and white sesame seeds, mixed, optional
Lightly oil tuna with sesame oil and press edges into sesame seeds.
Heat skillet over high heat, and then coat with remaining sesame oil. Sear fish 1- 1 ½ minutes per side. Remove from heat and let rest for :30. Slice across the grain.
1 bunch Brussel sprouts
1 Tbsp. Oil
½ c. Chopped pecans
1 tsp. Minced shallots
2 Tbsp.Maple syrup
Toast pecans in 400 degree oven for 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
Trim edges from sprouts. Using a food processor, thinly slice sprouts.
Bring skillet to medium high heat and then add oil. Add shallots and cook lightly. Ad sprouts, salt and pepper and sauté for 3-4 minutes or until soft. Add pecans and maple syrup. Toss and serve.
