Airshow soars over Addison for Kaboom Town festival

An airshow takes flight this weekend in Addison.

Three main aerobatic planes will soar through the sky at this year’s Kaboom Town Aerial Extravaganza. The show lasts almost two hours and features a few skydivers.

Mike “Spanky” Gallaway will pilot one of the planes. He’s performed in more than 100 airshows and also flies competitively.

“It’s a fantastic show. It’s strange because the show is in the middle of town. That’s unusual for an airshow. Often times they have to be on the outskirts of town,” Gallaway said.

The festival kicks off Sunday at 5 p.m. The airshow starts at 7:15 p.m. and the fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
