Johnny Manziel says he's living with a fellow Texas A&M alum in California as he hopes to get back on track to the NFL. But, it turns out part of that story is untrue.
“Super Bowl MVP, Von Miller, my brother, I'm living with him right now. We're getting our lives together,” Manziel told a TMZ reporter.
In a recent clip from TMZ, Manziel, who was out partying that night, claimed he was living with Denver Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller. Miller took to Instagram and posted Manziel is not living with him.
ESPN reports the troubled quarterback is actually living with Cleveland Brown's wide receiver Josh Gordon who was suspended for the entire 2015 season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
Sports writer Clarence Hill, who follows Manziel's career, says Manziel's not doing enough to rehabilitate his image.
"He still has that problem with the truth,” said Hill. “He still has not sequestered himself to where he's focusing on getting ready for football and not partying all the time."
Manziel still faces legal troubles in North Texas. A Dallas County Grand Jury will decide if he'll face charges in a domestic violence case involving his ex-girlfriend.
