A rare duck sighting has people flocking to an Irving park.

It’s not yet clear why, but a confused Mandarin duck has been spotted at Centennial Park. The species is native to Eastern Asia and not common here.

“It’s probably the most photographed bird in Texas. It’s very colorful, almost looks like it fell into a box of crayons. I’ve been here a couple of times and there are people from Houston, San Antonio, Austin and of course every place in the Dallas metroplex,” said Jeff Clow, a bird photographer.

The colorful bird may have an identity crisis. It appears to be traveling with geese.
