Burger King pitches ‘McWhopper' to McDonald's
What do you get when you cross a Big Mac with a Whopper? The McWhopper.
While that may sound like a bad joke, The McWhopper is actually the name of a proposed hybrid burger that Burger King pitched to McDonald’s in hopes of the two fast-food chains working together for a day.
Burger King reached out to McDonald’s on Wednesday with the idea to help raise awareness for Peace One Day, which takes place on Sept. 21 and promotes a day of worldwide peace.
McDonald’s said no to the offer, saying,
“Inspiration for a good cause... great idea.
We love the intention but think our two brands could do something bigger to make a difference.
We commit to raise awareness worldwide, perhaps you’ll join us in a meaningful global effort?
And every day, let's acknowledge that between us there is simply a friendly business competition and certainly not the unequaled circumstances of the real pain and suffering of war.
