A North Texas man is in intensive care after he was hit and dragged by a car over the weekend.

Wills Point Police say the case may involve road rage and they need help finding the driver who took off.

From his porch on 4th Street, Mike Wright sees the goings-on of Wills Point. About 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Wright had a full view as 56-year-old Mark Huff was run over and dragged. The grandfather, and postal employee, was left for dead in front of Wright's house.

“If he hit him and knocked him down, why didn't he just go on instead of run over him again?” questioned Wright “So, that's why I think it was on purpose.”

A woman, who didn’t want to go on camera, was Huff’s passenger. She said they'd wrapped up some shopping and were headed home when a guy in a dark-colored hatchback decided he didn't like the way Huff was driving.

“Mark pushed over like you can't pass us,” she said. “This isn't a passing zone and he got back behind us and he started bumping us on the rear end.”

The woman said Huff pulled over near Wright’s house and confronted the other driver who'd hit them. She and Wright say Huff was walking away when he was struck by the car.

“I was screaming. I was yelling,” the woman said. “I was like, ‘Somebody, help. Help.’“

Kim Henager and Jason Leath who own nearby KC's Bar and Grill heard the sirens and ran to help. They said they never imagining they'd see a familiar face peer back at them.

“He had road rash all the way down his arm,” said Henegar. “They got him turned over and he was in a lot of pain.”

“He's a dear friend of ours,” said Leath. “We are really pulling for him. And to the family, we hope he pulls through.”

Huff, still able to talk but critically injured, was airlifted to Baylor Dallas where he remained hospitalized on Monday.
