Texas 12-year-old leads police on 40 mile, 118mph chase

A 12-year old Texas girl will be in juvenile jail until Tuesday’s court hearing following a high speed chase that went on for about 40 miles.

On Thursday, the girl took her grandmother's car and took off with her 5-year-old sister, according to police in Montgomery, north of Houston.

The panicked grandmother thought they were being kidnapped and called police.

Dash cam video shows the girl zoom passed red lights at speeds that reached 118 mph.

The chase ended when OnStar took control and slowed it to about 60 mph then brought it to a stop at a high school.  

No one was hurt though the driver did hit two other vehicles.
