What we know:
Police say the incident happened on August 7, 2026, at a Target in Rockwall.
The woman tells FOX 4's Shaun Rabb that she was putting her grandson in her car when two men reached into her vehicle and snatched her purse.
Within minutes of the theft, the two suspects put charges on her credit cards at nearby stores.
The victim and her grandson were physically unharmed from the incident.
What they're saying:
"It seems pretty brazen that time of day on a Friday," Rockwall Police Captain Aaron McGrew tells Rabb.
McGrew says the woman wasn't at fault for the robbery.
"In this case, there were some natural distractions because the priority is the child's safety, and so it's understandable that your mind can't be on everything," McGrew said.
