Positive messages greet students at an Arlington elementary school when they walk into the bathroom.

Mary Moore Elementary has been encouraging a theme kindness and happiness among students this school year. A group of parents came up with the idea of brightening up one of the dreariest places on campus -- the bathrooms.

"Eight parents came in over the Presidents Day weekend and spent collectively 37 hours power cleaning all the stalls, sanding them down, painting them black. A lot of people ask, 'Oh, where'd you find the stencils?' it was free drawn by hand by some of our parents,” said principal Tyson Jones.

Some of the messages: “She believed she could so she did,” “Let your light shine,” “Be a warrior” and “Every day is a chance to get better.”

Sherwin Williams paint chipped in as well, giving the group a discount on supplies.

About 900 students attend the school.
