Pickup truck driver ejected, killed in early morning rollover on Interstate 30

A driver was killed early Sunday morning after losing control of a pickup truck and being ejected on Interstate 30, according to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

What we know:

Deputies and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded around 3 a.m. to a single-vehicle rollover near the eastbound Interstate 30 exit for Ferguson Road.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the driver on the roadway with critical injuries. The driver died at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver was exiting the freeway when they lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, causing the truck to flip and eject the driver.

The sheriff's Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to conduct the investigation. Authorities closed the eastbound Ferguson Road exit for approximately three hours while investigators processed the scene.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin, and the investigation remains ongoing.
