Former pastor arrested for child sex assault

HURST, Texas - A former pastor in Tarrant County is accused of sexually abusing two young women.

Police arrested 52-year-old Jose Bernal Wednesday at his home in Hurst. He was charged with two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Bernal is the former pastor at Tabernacle of Life Pentecostal Church. Police said two adult females came forward to report that they were sexually abused when they were juvenile members of the church.

The alleged assaults happened between the years of 2007 and 2013. Police have not said whether they suspect there are more victims.

Bernal is being held at the Hurst City jail. His bond was set at $100,000.
