Elderly man first Dallas County West Nile victim of 2015
Dallas County reported its first West Nile Virus death of 2015 on Tuesday.
The victim was a man in his 80s and lived in the 75214 zip code, which is East Dallas/Lakewood.
The elderly man had underlying medical conditions and contracted the neuroinvasive form of the disease, which the more serious type of West Nile.
It's the first West Nile Virus-related death in Dallas County since 2013.
