FOX 4 Weather Meteorologist Evan Andrews says the storms are here.

There is precipitation on the radar, but temperatures are still hovering just above freezing in most areas.

On the colorful radar view, the purple areas indicate mostly sleet in the Metroplex.

The more traditional view shows intensity. The areas that are orange and red are areas where we've gotten reports of snow.

7:20 a.m. - Snow in Denton County

Storms with rain, sleet and snow have moved into DFW. FOX 4 viewer Junior Ortiz shared this photo of large snowflakes falling in Denton.

At the High Five in Dallas, it's just raining.

7 a.m. - Driving Conditions

Storms are now starting to move into the Metroplex, bringing rain and sleet.

Traffic reporter Chip Waggoner said that although road conditions are still mostly fine, at least one car spun out and hit a wall on I-35E in Farmers Branch.

"There are not a lot of folks out and about right now in that location so it's not a huge time delay. But I feel like it serves as a reminder to us all that even though the temperatures are above freezing right now you can still end up skidding out on these wet surfaces," he said.

FOX 4's Paige Ellenberger ran into some sleet while driving to Tarrant County.

6:10 a.m. - Sleet on the Radar

Storms are starting to pop up east of the Metroplex.

FOX 4 Meteorologist Evan Andrews says the radar is brightly colored because the computer is having trouble determining if there’s snow, sleet, or freezing rain falling.

His sources in that area say it’s mostly sleet.

5 a.m. - Grocery Stores Open Today

As the Metroplex prepares for inclement weather, some grocery stores are adjusting their hours.

Kroger said it currently has no plans to change its hours today or tomorrow but will revisit if the roads get too bad.

Tom Thumb and Albertsons will open at 6 a.m. as usual. However, its stores will close early at 7 p.m.

Walmart and Target have not announced any closings or adjustments.

For now, the roads are fine.

FOX 4 Weather Meteorologist Evan Andrews said that with temperatures at or above the freezing mark, he’s thinking roads will likely just be "wet" for most of the day with some slick spots.

That will change tonight after sunset for most people.

That’s when snow should start accumulating and roads may get slippery.
