Dallas armed robbery suspects arrested, questioned about other cases

DALLAS - Police made at least two arrests after a string of violent robberies in north Dallas.

It happened after another armed robbery at the Marriott Suites on North Central Expressway early Wednesday morning. The suspects robbed the night clerk and got away.

Minutes later they broke into the America Extended Stay motel on Coit Road. The night manager there got a good look at the suspects from her sleeping quarters and was able to provide police with a description of the suspects’ vehicle.

Officers quickly spotted the car and chased it for about 45 minutes. The chase ended when officers spiked the car’s tires near Coit and Arapaho roads in Dallas.

Police said the suspects tried to threw out some cash. They also match the description of the men wanted for eight robberies earlier this week.

Surveillance video shows two men robbing and beating a clerk Monday at the La Quinta Inn on the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway. They struck again Tuesday morning at the Ramada Inn down the street.

Police said in the span of an hour, they got to apartments and a home, robbing six people.

One victim spoke to FOX 4 without showing her face. She described what happened when two men attacked her and her husband it the parking lot of their apartment complex.

"All of a sudden, there's two guys next to us. Didn't even see them get out and I was watching every single one of the mirrors,” she said.

One of the robbers began pistol whipping her husband.

"The one on his side left completely and looked like he was getting back in and then turned and started hitting him and beating him. Just out of nowhere started beating him and demanding more,” she said.

The robbers got away with two phones and some cash.

A few minutes later, police say the men put a gun to the head of a 20-year-old who was pulling up to his home in a neighborhood nearby. They forced him to drive a mile to an ATM on Hillcrest and Arapaho to take out cash.

Police have not yet officially linked the suspects who were arrested Wednesday to the robberies earlier in the week. For now they are calling them persons of interest.
