Big Tex gets new shirt designed by Cavender's ahead of State Fair of Texas
DALLAS - The State Fair of Texas has unveiled Big Tex’s new shirt for this year.
What we know:
The new Western-style red shirt features navy blue and white accents.
Instead of getting an entirely new shirt every three years, Cavender’s and the State Fair of Texas will add new elements to the design each year.
The shirt will evolve depending on specific milestones for the fair, Texas, or America.
What they're saying:
The shirt is bringing a new partnership with Cavender’s to life.
"Nothing says Texas more than Big Tex and Cavender’s. Pair that with his pearl snap shirt, how can it be any more Texas than that! Big Tex’s shirt is featuring our signature Rafter C angled pearl snap pocket. It’s a match made in heaven! We are proud to be a part of such a great tradition," said Clay Cavender.
"We’re proud to partner with Cavender’s to bring together two Texas institutions that share a deep appreciation for the heritage and traditions of the Lone Star State," said Mitchell Glieber, State Fair of Texas President. "Together, we’re establishing a new annual tradition for Big Tex that keeps his iconic Western style fresh while giving us a new story to tell each year."
What's next:
The state fair is about a month away. Opening day is Sept. 25.
