Betsy Price wins 5th term as Fort Worth mayor

Betsy Price has been elected to a record fifth term as Fort Worth mayor.

Price faced challenges from two opponents and a write-in candidate.

Tarrant County Democratic Party Chair Deborah Peoples was looking to take her seat.

Price received 56 percent of the vote, while Peoples managed 42 percent.

At her watching party, Price told the crowd that Peoples called concede just before 10 p.m.

James H. McBride had 2% of the vote, with write-in candidate Mike Haynes only receiving 35 votes, with less than .10 percent of the vote.
