Backstreet Boys cancel Oklahoma concert after 14 fans were injured in line
The Backstreet Boys say they will try to reschedule a concert at the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Oklahoma, after strong winds blew large metal trusses at the venue's entrance onto a group of fans.
In a statement the WinStar said staff advised people waiting in line for the outdoor venue to seek shelter as storms moved in around 5 P.M. Saturday, but about 150 people stayed where they were.
The casino says 70 to 80 mph winds knocked the trusses over about half-an-hour later, sending 14 people to the hospital. At least two have been released.
Several hours of delays ended with the boy band tweeting they had decided to cancel the show:
The WinStar says it will honor existing tickets for the original August 18th show when a new date is announced.
