A Garland Police Department Communications Unit police and fire dispatcher died in a wrong-way crash early Saturday morning. Several others were hurt.
It happened just after 5:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes of LBJ freeway in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas.
The driver of an SUV was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-635 and slammed into the the vehicle Crystal Nuncio was driving, according to Garland police.
Nuncio (pictured) had worked as a dispatcher for nine years. She died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV has been identified as 25-year-old Luis Angel Rodriguez of Grand Prairie. He faces one count of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault, according to Garland police.
A 9-month-old girl in the back seat was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 9-year-old girl in the back seat was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Garland police have been re-routing westbound traffic on LBJ Freeway at Jupiter Road. The road was still closed as of noon Saturday.
