Damp weather on Halloween for North Texas trick-or-treaters

It was expected to be a wet walk through neighborhoods for trick-or-treaters in North Texas on Tuesday.

Showers developed around noon west of the area and began moving through during the afternoon. Rain chances should slowly dwindle as the evening goes on, but some kids will still need an umbrella. Highest coverage will be east and southeast of the metro areas.

As rain falls into drier air, temperatures will drop close to 50 or even upper 40s

After a chilly, damp cloudy start Wednesday the sun breaks out from west to east and western areas get into the 80s, Metro in the 70s with 60s still east.

By Thursday, North Texas will likely see all-time records for November threatened as temperatures soar towards 90 degrees. There will be a few early clouds, but a dry line moving in during the afternoon will help send the temp soaring. Eastern areas may stay in the 80s with an isolated storm possible towards Tyler.

Despite the rain, some residents in a Lakewood neighborhood decided to hold trick-or-treating earlier around 3:30 p.m. Homes taking part in the early Halloween put a pumpkin at the end of the sidewalk so kids knew which houses to hit up.
