TEA says Fort Worth ISD at risk of takeover from state
In May, the TEA warned the district that it was at risk of being taken over by the state. That came after 2023 school accountability ratings were released. Those accountability ratings showed that a campus, the Leadership Academy at Forest Oak sixth grade received an 'unacceptable' rating for five straight years. That triggers a threshold that allows the TEA commissioner to take over a school district or force a campus' closure.
