DALLAS - The Dallas Mavericks remain in last place in the NBA West.
On the road, the Mavs watched helplessly as the Clippers scored 13 unanswered points in the final minutes. L.A. won by three points.
Dirk Nowitzki did hit a milestone, though. He celebrated his 50,000th career NBA minute Monday night.
Unfortunately, he did it with his name spelled wrong on the back of his jersey. The “K” and the “Z” were mixed up.
Dirk said he hadn’t noticed it. A sports writer pointed out it was also misspelled at a different game over the weekend.
The team’s equipment manager took responsibility for the error. The Mavericks are now considering auctioning the jersey off for charity.
