Dallas Mavericks fans can design new court

The Dallas Mavericks are offering fans a chance to design the team’s new court.

Fans have until March 11 to submit their design via social media and tag their image #MavsNewCourt.

“Crowdsourcing our new court design is the best way to get a wide variety of creative and unique options from our fans,” said Mavericks owner Mark Cuban in a statement.  “It’s also an opportunity for one of our fans to literally leave their mark on the home floor for millions of people to see. May the best MFFL win!”

It’s not the first time the team has asked fans' for input. Several years ago the team sought out designs for an alternate jersey, which resulted in the blue Dallas skyline uniform the team now wears.

A panel of Mavericks judges, including Cuban, will pick the Top 3 designs from all of the entries. Fans will then be able vote online for their favorite. The winner will be unveiled at the final regular season game on April 13.

The winning designer will also get two season tickets for next season and be recognized on the court on opening night.
