Youth mentor re-arrested for soliciting a minor

A North Texas man who mentored at-risk boys was arrested for the second time in less than a week.

Paul Jamison Jr., the 33-year-old founder and chairman of Developing Boys to Men, was booked into the Mansfield jail on Wednesday for the solicitation of a minor.

He was free on bond after being arrested Friday for both the online solicitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.

Investigators say in the first case, Jamison bet a 15-year-old boy affiliated with Developing Boys to Men that he couldn’t abstain from looking at pornography. After the boy lost the bet, Jamison allegedly sent him a text asking for inappropriate pictures.

The teen’s mother found the text messages and alerted police.

The arrest warrant affidavit says in the second case, Jamison also used text messages.

The affidavit says in part, the boy, 15 years old, was keeping his distance from Jamison because “Paul would say inappropriate and sexual things.”

Police say the second boy also knew Jamison through his Developing Boys to Men organization.

The mother of the boy in the latest case called police after she found text messages on a cell phone she loaned her son during a camping trip with Jamison.

Police took photos of the texts messages.

In the affidavit, police say Jamison asked the 15-year-old to perform oral sex as punishment after Jamison had asked the teenager about his sexual activities with girls.

The police document says the teen, “tells the suspect that he does not want to do that and that he does not feel like that is a fair punishment.”

Jamison allegedly “tells the victim multiple times that ‘we r done’ and ‘we r through’ and ‘U said I am the adult and u are the kid. U would do what I say...U the one who brought this on urself.”

In the affidavit, police say when they questioned Jamison, the suspect admitted to asking the victim for oral sex via text messaging.

Police say the second 15-year-old boy identified Jamison from a photo lineup and also recognized the texts when police showed him photos from the cell phone.
