Woman robbed, man shot by masked men in Oak Cliff

DALLAS - A man was shot and a woman was robbed in their own apartment in west Oak Cliff.

Dallas police believe the masked robbers followed a couple home from a grocery store around 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

They entered the family’s apartment on Springwood Lane and stole the woman’s purse. Her adult son came out from a back room to see what was happening and was shot in the abdomen and leg, police said.

He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive.

The three robbery suspects fled in a Chevy Impala. The victim’s family said police later stopped a car matching that description. They said they found the purse and arrested one person.

Police are still looking for the other suspects. They believe they are the same men who robbed a Red Bird motel earlier Wednesday night.
