Woman hospitalized after dog attack in South Dallas

A woman was attacked by a pack of dogs as she was walking in South Dallas early Sunday morning.

The woman lives in the area near Hamilton Avenue and Fair Park. The four dogs that attacked her belong to a neighbor. One person was able to scare the dogs away while another called 911.

The woman was rushed to the hospital and is being treated for multiple dog bites.

A neighbor who didn’t want to share her name said the woman had injuries all over her body.

“They just said if they didn’t make it in time then she’d probably be dead by now,” the neighbor said. “They’re always loose. There’s other dogs that come around that are always loose in the neighborhood but we haven’t reported them loose.”

The injured woman is expected to be okay. The dogs’ owner could face criminal charges. He said he didn’t know how they got loose.

The dogs are now in the custody of Dallas Animal Services.
