Woman believed to be missing in crash over Lake Ray Hubbard found safe

Searchers spend part of the night looking for a woman reportedly in a pickup that drove into Lake Ray Hubbard late Thursday. She was later found safe in another state.

Police said the driver of the truck went through a guard rail on Interstate 30 around 9:30 p.m. Witnesses immediately pulled the driver out of the water.

He told police there was a woman in the truck with him. Officers recovered the truck, but did not find the woman.

The driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Police now believe the man was on the way to Arkansas to pick up the woman. He fell asleep behind the wheel and was disoriented after the crash.

Officers made contact with the woman Friday morning. She was never picked up in Arkansas.
