Vigil held in Dallas County, where murderd woman's body was discovered
Family and friends held a vigil Wednesday night, to remember a 34-year-old mother of three, whose body was found Sunday. Dallas police say Marisol Espinosa’s missing persons case is now a homicide investigation.
Family and friends are also becoming increasingly anxious over what’s become of Espinosa’s ex-boyfriend, and father of two of her children. Espinosa and Faustino Valdez were sharing a home at the time of her disappearance. He went missing shortly after she did.
A neighbor says he hasn’t seen Valdez, and apart from his father, Jesus Valdez, who comes by to feed the dog, no one has been to his house.
Valdez’s father says he last saw his son before leaving for work the morning of January 4th. His son was staying with him at the time and wasn’t home when the elder Valdez returned. He insists he has not heard from him since. Jesus Valdez says his son needs to come forward and clear his name if he had nothing to do with Espinosa’s death.
Relatives at the vigil didn’t want to talk about Faustino Valdez. They gathered by the bridge in Southeast Dallas County where her body was found. Some who knew Espinosa want police to take a harder look at the ex-boyfriend, who was initially part of the search effort.
