Two in Dallas assaulted after meeting up with someone from online

Dallas police are urging people who use dating apps and sites to be cautious.

Police said two victims this year were sexually assaulted after meeting up with someone they met online. Officials are asking people to meet in a public place, tell someone where you'll be and trusting your instincts.

Police said more and more predators are using social media to meet their victims.

"These criminals are exploiting the willingness to meet up by lying about who they are, their identity and their impure intentions," said Israel Herrera, Dallas PD.

A new study from the University of Chicago shows one in three couples who married between 2005 and 2012 met online.
