Police are investigating the drowning death of a toddler in Wilmer that occurred Friday afternoon.
The Wilmer Police Department and EMS responded to a drowning of an 18 month old child on Billy Wickliffe Drive.
Upon arrival a Wilmer Officer started CPR and Wilmer EMS transported the child in full cardiac arrest. The child did not survive.
At this point in the investigation, police believe the drowning is accidental. There are no indications to the contrary.
CPS has been notified and will conduct an investigation and the Wilmer Police Department will investigate the drowning as well.
