Thousands without power in Metroplex following severe storms
Severe thunderstorms that moved across north Texas Saturday night have left thousands without power in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
ONCOR reports almost 17 thousand customers are without power in Tarrant County Sunday morning, while another nine thousand customers in the mid cities area remain in the dark. The power outages extend into the Corsicana area.
A line of severe thunderstorms moved across north Texas Saturday night causing widespread damage and the power outages. The thunderstorm winds knocked down trees, tree limbs and brought down power lines in many areas. A church steeple in Trophy Club in Tarrant County suffered heavy damage, out buildings in many areas also were damaged.
ONCOR crews are working to restore electric power to the affected areas.
