Texas sets electricity demand record on Wednesday

DALLAS - Texas broke another record for electricity demand as temperatures soared well above 100 degrees on Wednesday.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas said residents set a record Wednesday between 3 and 4 p.m. of 71,438 MW.
The state’s electrical grid had enough capacity to handle it, but officials said conservation is always a good idea on hot days to ensure no rolling brownouts would be needed.
