Texas flooding: How you can help people in Kerrville
KERR COUNTY, Texas - Dozens of people have died, and several people had to be rescued after flooding in Central Texas.
Many people across the state and around the country are seeking ways to help.

Texas flooding: 68 dead in Kerr Co., others missing
Kerr County officials say that 68 people were killed in Kerr County, including 40 adults and 28 children. Crews continue to search for 10 Camp Mystic campers and 1 counselor.
On Friday night, officials asked people not to come to the area, because they could get in the way of first responders.
Kerr County Flood Relief Fund
The Community Foundation, a nonprofit group in the area, launched the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to help support local response, relief and recovery efforts.

Kerrville Area Rebuilding & Recovery Fund
The Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation has established the Kerrville Area Rebuilding & Recovery Fund to support long-term rebuilding efforts for Kerrville area businesses.
While immediate needs are being addressed, this fund will remain in place to assist with the ongoing recovery and restoration in the months to come.
This initiative aims to provide immediate and long-term support for affected businesses for repairs, façade improvements, new signage, utility bill payments, and gap funding. The fund will direct resources to Chamber members whose businesses have been negatively impacted by the flood.

Salvation Army
The City of Kerrville says the Salvation Army is taking donations for those affected by the flooding.
They are in need of non-perishables, hygiene items, bleach, brooms, shovels, trash bags, diapers, socks, baby wipes and trash bags.
The group asks any donations to be dropped off at 855 Hays Street.
Red Cross
The Red Cross has opened three shelters in Kerrville.

An Austin running club is collecting essential supplies for those impacted by the recent flooding in the Hill Country.
You can drop off items needed at the Comedor Run Club on Monday, July 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 501 Colorado St. in Austin.
Items needed:
- Non-perishable food
- Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D)
- Animal feed
- Diapers + wipes
- Bathing essentials
The run club said they will not be accepting cash, checks, or bottled water.

Portion of sales from all Texas-based Uchi, Uchiba and Uchiko locations are being donated to the nonprofit Mercy Chefs.

Commodore Perry Estate
In partnership with Kerr County, Commodore Perry Estate is serving as a drop-off location for relief donations.
Donations can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.
Upon arrival, the valet team will direct you to the entrance of the chapel where items can be placed on their donation storage shelf.

- Brooms and shovels
- Basic emergency and cleaning supplies
UFCU
All UFCU locations in the Greater Austin area will begin accepting flood-related relief supplies on Monday morning. UFCU locations can be found here.
The following items are needed the most by those affected by this weekend’s floods:
- Food and water: non-perishable food items, including canned goods, energy bars and dried fruit.
- First Aid & Hygiene: first-aid kits, medications, hand sanitizer, soap, toilet paper, and other personal hygiene items.
- Baby Supplies: baby food, formula, bottles, diapers and wipes.
- Pet Supplies: food water, bowls, leashes.
- Clothing & Bedding: clean socks, underwear and changes of clothes.
- Lighting & Communications: flashlights, extra batteries, battery-powered or hand-crank radios.
- Cleaning Supplies: mops, rags, buckets, cleaning solutions and garbage bags.
- Other: manual can openers, face masks and plastic tarps.
Texas Children's Central Texas Flood Hope Fund
Texas Children's has established the Texas Children’s Central Texas Flood Hope Fund. All funds raised will go directly to support the flood victims.
Texas Children’s – Austin has also launched a donation drive to assist families across Kerr County and the surrounding Hill Country.
Community members can drop off non-perishable food, bottled water, diapers, wipes, formula, new toys, books, new blankets and new socks and undergarments of all sizes.

All donations will be delivered to those in need.
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter
WCRAS is urgently in need of fosters for:
- Dogs
- Cats and kittens with special needs
- Bottle baby kittens or kittens too young for adoption
Those who can help are urged to come to the shelter as soon as they are able and fill out a brief registration form.
Other ways to help:

- Volunteer onsite with tasks like cleaning, dishes, laundry or organizing received donations

The city of Leander says it is currently not collecting donations nor is it a drop off point for any groups, but it shared a list of locations accepting donations:

Austin Wildlife Rescue
Austin Wildlife Rescue is looking for item donations to help with their response. Items can be purchased through their Amazon Wishlist.
Walmart
Walmart, along with Sam's Club and the Walmart Foundation, are committing up to $500,000 in grants and in-kind donations to support relief efforts.
This includes up to a $250,000 match of customer and member donations, made online or in-stores and clubs in Texas, through the Walmart and Salvation Army match campaign.

Walmart, Sam’s Club, and the Walmart Foundation have also been working with nonprofit organizations to provide essential resources, including:
- At the Walmart Supercenter in Kerrville (Store #508), Operation BBQ Relief is offering free hot meals beginning July 7 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Tides Loads of Hope laundry trucks and showers provided by Matthew 25: Ministries, Procter & Gamble and Walmart will be deployed to the area.
- Walmart and the Walmart Foundation funded local partners including the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army with food, water and other supplies.

Alamo Drafthouse
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is making a donation of $50,000 to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which supports the relief and rebuilding efforts.
There is also a donation option for guests with every online ticket transaction.
P. Terry's
This Thursday, July 10th, P. Terry's will be donating 100% of profits from all 36 locations to support Texas flood victims.
Funds will be donated to the Austin Disaster Relief Network, contributing to the "Central Texas Flood" fundraising campaign.
Those wanting to help can visit any P. Terry's location that day.
Texas Roadhouse and Bubba's 33
On Wednesday, July 9, from open to close, all Texas Roadhouse locations in Texas and Bubba's 33 locations in: Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Longview, Killeen, Lubbock, Tyler, Waco, Texarkana and College Station, will donate the day's profits to help Kerr County.
All profits will be donated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
Kerbey Lane
Austin chain Kerbey Lane will be donating 100% of its profits from all 10 of its locations to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund on Thursday, July 10.
Uvalde Foundation for Kids
Uvalde Foundation for Kids is accepting donations and applications for funding distribution for those in immediate need.

Donations will be used for medical expenses, rent/utilities or temporary housing, crisis mental health care and more, says the foundation.
