Search still on for Rowlett sex assault suspect

Last week, a Rowlett teen with special needs was abducted and sexually assaulted as she went for a walk in her neighborhood.

Detectives are stepping up efforts to try and find the man behind the attack.

Rowlett police were on the streets on Monday, taking posters to businesses of the composite drawing of the man they are looking for.

Police say the 15-year-old alleged victim, who has Asperger’s, was forced into a car on Aug. 17 by the suspect, who threatened to shoot her as she walked in her neighborhood.

He drove the teen to a Rowlett park, where she was sexually assaulted. The suspect then drove the teen back to her neighborhood, letting her out of the car in an alley near her home.

The composite sketch of the suspect was drawn by a DPS forensic artist based on what the girl remembered about her attacker.

Even if it's slightly off, police believe the suspect’s tattoo is some kind of tribal art.
