Seagoville man checking his truck bed killed in hit-and-run crash on Highway 75
Few clues in search for hit-and-run driver
51-year-old Jamie Lopez Tinoco ended up pinned between the two vehicles. He suffered traumatic injuries due to the metal tubing and sheet metal protruding from his truck bed.
SEAGOVILLE, Texas - Police in Seagoville are looking for a hit-and-run driver who hit a man standing on the side of a highway.
Seagoville Deadly Crash
What we know:
The crash happened around 7 p.m. last Thursday on the westbound service road of Hwy. 175 between the Malloy Bridge Road and Seagoville Road exits.
Investigators believe 51-year-old Jamie Lopez Tinoco had pulled over on the right side of the service road to check on building supplies that were in the bed of his truck.

Despite having his emergency flashers on, he was hit by another vehicle while standing behind his truck.
Lopez Tinoco ended up pinned between the two vehicles. He suffered traumatic injuries due to the metal tubing and sheet metal protruding from his truck bed.
When officers arrived, Tinoco was already dead.
"There was fluid spills, and then there was a trail leaving from the scene of the accident that led officers to believe there was an accident there involving a second vehicle," said Seagoville Police Officer Sam Click.
Aside from the fluid spills, there was little more evidence to work with.
No cameras were nearby to capture the crash. Police also don’t have any witnesses.
What we don't know:
Seagoville police are still trying to find the other vehicle and its driver.
They don’t know anything about the make or model but said it likely now has significant front-end damage.
Police also found a trail of fluid that apparently spilled from the other vehicle as it fled.

What they're saying:
David Villarreal, Tinoco’s pastor, says they were on the phone when he pulled over that night.
"The last word that he's he says, ‘My legs!’ And I'm like, ‘Are you okay? How's everything?’ And he didn't talk no more," recalled the pastor.
Villarreal told officers he didn’t hear a crash, but someone later answered Tinoco’s phone at the scene and shared the news of his death.
"The man that answered the phone, he told me, ‘I think somebody hit him and run away because there's no one, nobody here,’" said Villarreal.
Villarreal says Tinoco was a happy person who was working to make changes in his life.
"He was so happy about serving the Lord," he said. "Because I know he feels the Lord on his own. And I know he's in a good place right now."

What you can do:
Seagoville police are asking anyone who might have seen something to come forward.
"If there was some security footage or there was a passing by motorists that saw something, even if it’s just the make and model or color of the car, that would be great," said Click.
The family is asking the driver to do the right thing and turn themselves in.
"We can’t give closure to the family until we know exactly what happened," the officer said.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call the Seagoville Police Department at 972-287-2999.
