Police collecting patches to support injured officer
FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are asking the police community to show support for an injured officer by sending patches.
Officer Matthew Pearce is sedated in critical condition. But, the department said he is showing signs of improvement.
Pearce was shot multiple times on Tuesday while chasing a fugitive and his son. Ed Mciver Sr. was killed in the return fire and his 21-year-old son, Ed Mciver Jr., is now facing several charges including attempted capital murder.
Police said the family would like to collect as many patches as possible so Pearce can see how much support he has from other agencies.
