Parker County pregnant woman shot, killed during argument
WEATHERFORD, Texas - A 29-year-old pregnant woman died after being shot in the head during an argument in Parker County.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said it happened around 1 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Dill Road, which is a rural part of the county north of Weatherford.
A man at the house told deputies he and the victim had gotten into an argument and fought over a weapon. He said the gun went off during the scuffle.
The Parker County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Shannon Guthrie. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died on Monday. Her baby also died after being delivered on Sunday.
The sheriff’s office is still investigating the case with help from the Texas Rangers. There’s no word yet on if any charges will be filed.
