Officer crashes while trying to stop suspect

DALLAS - Police continue to investigate in east Oak Cliff where a Dallas police officer was involved in an accident.

It happened around 3 a.m. Friday on Interstate 45 near Illinois Avenue. The officer was trying to make a traffic stop, lost control and hit a utility pole.

The pole fell on the squad car. The officer was not hurt, but a nearby apartment complex did lose power.

Police did not release any more details about that traffic stop.
