North Texans brave rain, cold to finish Christmas shopping

Shoppers across North Texas ignored the rain and cold weather to make some last minute Christmas purchases.

People ventured out into Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth to check out the decorations and get those final few gifts.

"I'm a procrastinator! It helps when the weather is bad, there's nobody out here shopping to compete with,” one shopper said.

Saturday is the last full day of shopping left before the holidays, with Christmas Eve falling on a Sunday this year.

Police are reminding shoppers to be smart, stay safe and be patient and alert when visiting malls or stores.

"Be vigilant, always be aware of your surroundings,” said Arlington PD Lt. Chris Cook. “Do not let anyone see you placing valuables in your vehicle.”
